Product Description

Agrostis palustris

Seaside II Creeping Bentgrass is a perennial cool season grass that forms a dense, fine textured mat. The grass spreads by profuse creeping stolons and has vigorous, shallow roots. It thrives in cool, humid areas and is most often used in lawns, pastures and sport fields in the Pacific Northwest. In warmer Southern climates, it is almost exclusively used on golf greens under intensive management practices. Seaside Creeping Bentgrass is the oldest seeded variety in use today. It can be irrigated with water sources containing high salt content and grows well in coastal areas. The seed is harvested from natural stands indigenous to the coastal regions of Washington and Oregon. Seaside Creeping Bentgrass should be planted in early Fall, as Spring planting does not allow adequate growing time for plants to mature prior to Summer heat stress.
