Maximilian Sunflower is a tall perennial sunflower with yellow flowers that are 3 inches across. Clustered leaves are grayish-green and rough to the touch, often folded and curving downward. Maximilian sunflower enjoys full sun light and is moderately drought tolerant. A wildflower native to the central U.S. plains states it produces showy yellow ray flowers from midsummer to fall. It's Rhizomatous and aggressive characterizes make it a heavy competitor in mixes. Very important wildlife plant, deer forage on leaves and birds eat the seeds. Seeding rate: 4 to 8 lbs per acre 4oz for 400 sq. feet.
